FAQ
File Formats & NDA FAQs
Common questions about CAD file formats, drawings, and confidentiality.
What if my files are too large to upload?
If your files are too large for the quote form, contact us by email and we can arrange a suitable file transfer method.
What is the best CAD file format to send?
STEP or STP is preferred for most CNC machining projects because it provides reliable 3D geometry for quoting and engineering review.
Can I send only a STEP file?
Yes. A STEP file is often sufficient for an initial quote. For critical tolerances, threads, GD&T, surface finishes, or inspection requirements, please also provide a 2D drawing.
Can you sign my NDA before I send files?
Yes. We can review and sign your NDA before you share confidential CAD files, drawings, or project information.
Can I upload 2D drawings with my 3D model?
Yes. We recommend submitting 2D drawings with your 3D CAD model when dimensions, tolerances, threads, GD&T, surface finishes, or other critical requirements need to be specified.
