Frequently Asked Questions
What copper grades do you commonly machine?
We commonly machine C110, C101, C145, C17200, C18200, and other copper alloys depending on the application and part requirements.
What is the difference between C110 and C145 copper?
C110 offers excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, while C145 provides much better machinability while maintaining good conductivity, making it well suited for more complex CNC-machined parts.
What tolerances can you achieve on copper parts?
Typical CNC machining tolerances are ±0.01 mm, with tighter tolerances down to ±0.005 mm available for selected critical features depending on copper grade, part geometry, feature size, and inspection requirements.
Is copper difficult to CNC machine?
Machinability varies by copper grade. Pure copper grades such as C110 can be more challenging because of their ductility, while grades such as C145 offer significantly improved machinability.
What surface finishes are available for copper parts?
Available options include as-machined finishes, polishing, bead blasting, nickel plating, and other secondary processes depending on the copper grade and application requirements.
Do you provide material certificates for copper?
Material certificates can be provided for selected copper grades upon request, subject to supplier availability and project requirements.
